Sterile, absorbable hemostatic gelatin sponge, made up of 100% porcine gelatin. Tidespon is made from a modified gelatin foam, which gives the final product a uniform porosity and reacts in a neutral way.
Tidespon adheres to the bleeding site and absorbs approximately 50 times its weight. Thanks to the uniform porosity of Tidespon, platelets are captured, the coagulation cascade is activated and the soluble fibrinogen is transformed into a network of insoluble frost, which stops bleeding. Implanted into tissue, Tidespon is absorbed within 3-5 weeks.

Tidespon® is a sponge that can be used as a local haemostatic, in surgical procedures that cause bleeding, in situations where traditional haemostasis is difficult or impractical and the use of non-absorbable materials is not desirable.
